Another smell mixes with the garlic and sour-armpit stench. Rotten and wrong. When I look in the mirror again, Mary Margaret’s reflection stares back. She’s right behind me.

 

Twelve-year-old Finn has more fears than friends. When his parents decide to move from their Chicago condo to a creepy, old farmhouse in Wisconsin, Finn’s fears grow. This new house gives him a bad feeling. And for good reason! Someone else lives in Finn’s new house—the ghost of Mary Margaret Jensen—a girl who died there in the 1800s. For some reason, Finn is the only one who can see her. She shatters light bulbs and terrorizes him, making it clear she wants the family to get out.

 

Finn meets a group of local kids—Cricket, Isa, Sully, and Lewis—who know the unlucky history of his house. They work together to solve the mystery that involves the angry spirit, a graveyard, and a baby crane who seems to communicate with Finn.

 

In the end, Finn isn’t the only one who realizes that there’s a unique opportunity to make new friends. . . .
